Katie, born in Los Angeles California now resides on the Island of Antigua in the West Indies. She began her artistic career in animation at Hanna Barbera Productions, before moving to the island.
Her resume includes: opening a number of art Galleries with her originals and prints, Children's Book Illustrator, Antiguan Postage Stamp creator & commercial and residential Muralist worldwide. Katie's favorite medium is Prismacolor pencils, which afford her drawings an incredible amount of detail work. She also works a great deal in acrylic paints. Her subject matter spans from pet portraits of birds, cats, dogs, etc. to native island and underwater wildlife. Katie has painted murals of everything from island plants , wildlife and mermaids to faux architecture on the walls of estates all over the world.
Katie's studio, located in such an exotic environment, gives all of her paintings and drawings a magical air. You can feel warm summer sun playing with highlights and shadows on a pet's fur, as the island breezes dance across their coats.

Tanya & Katie McConnahie became fast friends while working as artists for Hanna Barbera. Her Animation Art Career continued at Walt Disney Pictures, Universal Pictures, Ted Turner Films & Warner Brothers Feature Animation. Tanya's Feature Film credits include: The Black Cauldron, The Great Mouse Detective, Oliver & Company, The Little Mermaid, Roger Rabbit, Space Jam, Osmosis Jones, 8 Crazy Nights, Iron Giant & Looney Tunes Back in Action.
Her originals and prints have toured the Art Expo Circuit in the USA, shown & sold in Art Galleries and private collections. She and her husband owned an art gallery for several years, where they met Don Vernon.
Digital art has been her primary medium for the last 10 years and includes everything from Digital paintings to designing web sites. She also sculpts wire, metal, beads & crystals into jewelry - everything from dragonflies and bugs to mermaids and cowboy boots.
